The concept of hypoallergenic is a falacy. People can and are allergic to all kinds of ';hypoallergenic'; things.
Laser toner basically all works the same, though once it's baked by the laser it shouldn't be very reactive (result in allergy).
At any rate, I suppose anything is possible, it can be nasty stuff, especially if you breathe it as dust.
Best that he stick with an ink, thermal, or wax based printer. I don't care much for his quiz show though.
