At the beauty supply shop, is a toner the same as a colour?

no way! no colour is a whole different thing. colour is a strong medium that lifts or tints your natural color, removing particles and changing the natural pigment. a toner however is a liquid used after dyeing, to get rid of any nasty colour side affects. for example, if you were to bleach you hair and if it turned orange or a sickly yellow for example, you should try a blue or green toner, the toner will rid any brassyness of your hair and give you are more natural better colour. .

toners usually come in liquid form and can be in shampoos that claryfy color.

good luck and if you nhave any other questions please feel free to email me:)At the beauty supply shop, is a toner the same as a colour?
I suppose your talking about hair even though this is the make up section...A toner counteracts the a color that your putting in your hair. For example when my sister in law gets her dyed brown she also uses a green toner to contract the red that shows up in her hair afterward. A blue violet toner would counteract any brassyness left in some ones hair after bleaching it and make it more white. Just think back to the color wheel if your dying your hair one color look for the opposite and color and use that as a toner. Toners make your hair color more richer and brighter.
