I tried to highlight my hair and it has gone orange. what colour toner should i put on and where can i get it?

Go to a Beauty Supply store such as Sally Beauty and buy Clairol Shimmer Lights. The blue/purple tone of the shampoo is the opposite of orange on the color wheel and will cancel out the brassiness.


Lather it on your whole head of hair in the shower and then leave it on for about ten minutes. If it didnt get rid of the orange completely, do it again. Shimmer Lights is about $7 or you can get the Generic version which works just as well.


Its only available at Beauty Supply stores.


Home Highlights never turn out well because youre only using one substance, where as highlights should be multifacted and contain bleach and other metals.


I get mine done professionally and use Shimmer Lights once a week to tone down any brassiness that appears from the high iron content in the water in my shower. Works like a charm and has worked for everyone I know with a Tried to Go Blonde and It Turned Orange nightmare.
