My Brother MFC8460N has toner dust around the toner area. What does that mean? And how do I clean it?

toner dust is left when the printer is printing. usually this is no big deal. you can clean it with a lint free cloth. canned air will just relocate it and leave toner dust where it doesn't belong.

however - if there is a ton of dust, it means that the cartridge has blown and needs replaced. it also means that you may need to clean the entire machine. you can do this fairly easily, or you can call a printer repair company to do this for you, but they will charge you.

good luck.
