Laser Printer toner dust: Is it harmful?

Everytime i print with my laser printer, some of the toner dusts comes out. Is this normal? Are the toner particles harmful?Laser Printer toner dust: Is it harmful?
A printer should NOT really be venting any noticeable toner poweder, but by the nature of the machiens they usually do release a small amount.

Is it harmful ? In small quantities like thsat NO, not at all.

All those people saying yes are answering based on the toners used in the 1980, which WAS nasty stuff.

Today normal black toner is almst pure carbon, so it's the same as us.

Sure if you open a toner cartridge and eat the contents it's not good for you, but in normal use there is no risk, otherwise no one would put laser printers in offices for fear of being sued today.Laser Printer toner dust: Is it harmful?
This is normal. The toner is a powder. And yes, is harmful.

But like anything else, unless you are coming in contact with a large amount of toner dust frequently, there is nothing to worry about.

The toner powder is fine particles of plastic that is magnetically charged when you print and fused to the paper.

In my shop, were I remanufacture toner cartridges, I always wear a mask and have a vented hood were I work with the toner cartridges.

But you should not have anything to worry about if just a little dust comes out, that is normal.
Yes
yes, it may interfere with the clarity of what is printed, you should get it cleaned out
